Welcome to Healthmoves Wellness Center
At Healthmoves, we can discuss your issues in order to design a health plan to best suit your needs. For example some patients respond to a gentle Chiropractic adjustment but others may need help in order to relax for the correction. A therapeutic massage will prepare this patient for their Chiropractic session.
Other patients may present their Massage Therapist with a dilemma; the reason a client's symptom pattern returns might be that there is an underlying mechanical disorder that would respond if the exact mechanisms of the fault were understood. Chiropractic analysis and corrections are very focused and can effectively locate and treat these underlying faults.
Our Synergy treatments are the main benefit that set Healthmoves apart from other practices that merely offer massage on site . These treatments work together in a way that is truly different; Chiropractic can mobilize or stabilize the joint as appropriate. The synergy massage then works on the muscles around the joint in order to bring them into balance. The synergy massage uses specific procedures designed to strengthen or inhibit the muscles as needed.
More Than Just a Good Rub!
Anyone who has ever had a massage can attest to how great it feels. What you may not know is how physiologically beneficial it is. Whether you are pregnant or not, therapeutic massage is a completely safe, natural, drug-free method of relieving aches and pains. Massage enhances the circulatory and lymphatic systems by promoting the movement of blood and lymph, which assists the heart and reduces swelling. Massage helps alleviate stress on the weight bearing joints of the hips, pelvis, knees and ankles . It also can relieve soreness in the other muscles stressed by supporting the additional weight of the baby. Relaxed muscles mean less pressure on nerves resulting in decreased pain (yes, even the infamous sciatic nerve so many pregnant women know all too well!) We are typically unaware of how tense and stressed-out we are since this is the norm in our culture. Massage increases our sense of awareness of our muscles and any tension that may be present. Through this new awareness relaxation skills may be developed which become invaluable during the birthing process. Massage provides a nurturing, soothing touch which promotes release of emotional and physical tension which in turn, facilitates sound, restful sleep. Being well relaxed and well rested prior to the onset of labor is of tremendous benefit.
There are contraindications to massage during pregnancy, as there are with other physical conditions, so be sure that your therapist is not only state licensed but also specifically certified in prenatal massage. Anyone whose pregnancy has been diagnosed as high risk should be massaged only with a doctor’s recommendation.
