Who we are
Established in 1976 as private non-profit center with a volunteer board of directors the center has maintained a consistent mission of providing high quality affordable child care to families in Rochester and surrounding communities. In its history the center has grown from an enrollment of 35 children to currently serving approximately 300 children in its various programs. Tuition is kept at an affordable rate through a contract with the Child Development Bureau and a sliding fee scale. Throughout its history the center has demonstrated a commitment to school aged childcare and has partnered with the Rochester School District to offer care at five elementary schools.
Our staff work hard to prevent illness and injuries. There is always someone on our premises who is CPR and First Aid certified.
The Rochester Child Care Center participates in the Child and Adult Care Food Program to offer nutritious meals and snacks and provides information to parents on nutrition and health topics. Through funding from a Community Block Grant new developmentally appropriate playgrounds were added to the facility in 2004. The center is licensed by the State of New Hampshire and has recently attained the newly developed Licensed Plus status.

Our Center philosophy is "The Child Comes First". Our programs are designed to give each child the support and encouragement they need to grow and learn every day. Because each child has their own individual pace for learning, we provide a variety of developmentally appropriate learning opportunities. Curriculum is designed for each specific age group and implemented with attention to the needs and differences of the individual children enrolled. We offer a play-oriented, hands-on, activity-based curriculum that allows children to express their natural curiosity while stimulating their social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development.
Our agency is a member of the United Way of the Greater Seacoast and we encourage all parents to contribute during their annual fall campaign. Our agency receives tremendous financial support from the UWGS, which allows is to keep tuition rates affordable. All contributions help and are greatly appreciated.
